NERC-funced research technician

Biography

I am a research technician supporting Dr Oudova-Rivera in researching the effect of methane on ammonia-oxidising archaea. I carried out my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at Bangor University. I continued my studies with a Master’s in Medical Microbiology at the University of Manchester. Between degrees I undertook a summer industrial placement with the National Nuclear Laboratory where I studied which radionuclides would be viable for application in nuclear medicine from UK legacy material. Following my Master’s, I worked for the pharmaceutical company Johnson and Johnson where was a Device Regulation Technician. Whilst enjoying industry, I still wanted to pursue a career in microbiology research therefore I joined the Lehtovirta-Morley Lab in October 2023.
